The story of Cooperativa Entre Ríos is one of resilience and growth, highlighted by a crucial partnership with Los Volcanes Coffee. Founded in 2009, the cooperative began in the San Marcos department of Guatemala. After the passing of their leader, the farmers formalized their efforts by establishing the cooperative to continue their shared vision. They initially joined other cooperatives, but in 2018, the cooperative they were part of faced cases of corruption, leading them to break away and operate independently, guided by their core values of transparency, integrity, and high-quality coffee. The turning point came when Cooperative Entre Ríos partnered with Los Volcanes Coffee, securing them as their exclusive buyer. By 2019, they were consistently selling two shipping containers per cycle, a partnership that fueled their stability and growth. With Los Volcanes’ support, the cooperative turned challenges into triumph, rebuilding and securing a sustainable future.
