Biota is a Farmer cooperative in the Coorg region in India, that harvests only Robusta on a high traceability level. The cooperative was founded in 2020 and today works together with 100 coffee growers. The cooperative is driven by a collective effort - they pool the coffee of surrounding farms. Biota is based on a very open and transparent calculation that is very clear to farmers that are members. They have simple and standardized protocols for farming practices and quality requirements that everyone needs to abide if they want to be part of it.
