Chire is a highland area in the Kere Woreda of the Sidamo region, renowned for producing premium Ethiopian Sidamo coffee. The Chire Washing Station processes both washed and natural specialty coffees Grade 1 and 2. It collaborates with over 900 smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee on plots ranging from 1 to 2 hectares. In addition to coffee, the region is also known for producing false bananas (Enset) and avocados.
