ETHIOPIA
SUKE AFURSA WS | YIRGACHEFFE | GRADE 1 | WASHED
The Suke Afursa Washing Station is located in the Yirgacheffe region and has a capacity of around 150 drying beds. It is managed by Mesfen and employs up to 400 people during the peak season. Approximately 950 coffee farmers from the area deliver their cherries to the Suke Afursa Washing Station throughout the season. To produce fertilizer for the upcoming season, the coffee pulp is composted. Due to the longer rainy season this year compared to previous years, the harvest was smaller, allowing more time and attention to be dedicated to coffee processing. This has resulted in particularly excellent quality this year.
