The Sierra Nevada is an isolated mountain range in northern Colombia, separated from the Andes and running through the center of the country. At an altitude of 3500m and only 42km from the Caribbean coast, it is the highest coastline in the tropics and one of the highest coastlines in the world. Coffee is mainly grown by indigenous groups in this region. This coffee comes from the ASOPROKIA cooperative, an association of producers certified by Fairtrade International, which always provides coffee farmers with the necessary tools throughout the coffee production stage and its sale, guaranteeing compliance with quality standards.
