The Fazenda Rio Brilhante is located in the state of Minas Gerais, within a micro-region called Pântano. The farm has around 1,600 hectares of coffee cultivated land and produces 130.000 bags of coffee per harvest. The founder, Inácio Urban, was born in the country's southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. Erika and Fernando Urban, Inácio's children, joined their father in farm management in 2006. A few years later, Noé, Inácio's son-in-law, also joined managing the farm. In 2017, Fazenda Rio Brilhante placed 2nd in the Imaflora - Rainforest Alliance and 3rd in the Cerrado Mineiro regional competition. In 2020, the farm won first place in the Ethics and Traceability Award, which is granted to farms for their dedication to and development of initiatives that help people, conserve the environment, and promote responsible agribusiness.
